Not professional advice
DueDays and the people behind it are not accountants, enrolled agents, attorneys or financial advisers, and nothing in the Service is offered as professional advice. Using DueDays, reading our guides, or emailing us does not create an accountant–client, attorney–client, fiduciary or other professional relationship. Decisions about your taxes, filings, elections and payments are yours to make, ideally with a licensed professional who knows your situation.
We don't file anything
DueDays does not prepare, sign, transmit or file any return, form, report, election or payment with the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, the Employment Development Department, the Secretary of State, any county assessor, or any other agency. Marking an item "filed" or "paid" in DueDays records what you did; it does not do it for you.
Dates and rules can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date
- General, not specific. The built-in calendar describes obligations common to a typical calendar-year S corporation. Your business may have different or additional obligations — a fiscal year, multiple states, employees in other states, sales tax, excise taxes, industry licenses, local requirements, or elections that change your deadlines.
- Agencies move dates. Due dates shift for weekends and holidays, are sometimes postponed after disasters, and change when laws change. We update the calendar when we learn of changes, but we may be late, or wrong.
- Penalty figures are illustrative. Amounts like "$255 per shareholder per month" are published rates for a given year, shown to explain why a deadline matters. Your actual penalty, interest or fee — if any — depends on your facts and on the agency.
- Reminders may not arrive. When email reminders launch, they can be delayed, filtered as spam, or fail. Never rely on a reminder as your only safeguard.
Always verify. The authoritative sources are the agencies themselves — for example the IRS's Publication 509 (Tax Calendars) and the FTB's business due-dates page — and your own tax professional.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for identifying every obligation that applies to your business, confirming each due date and amount, filing and paying on time, and keeping your own copies of important documents. DueDays is a tool to help you do that; it doesn't take that responsibility from you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DueDays is not liable for any tax, penalty, interest, fee, loss or damage of any kind arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its content — including any missed, late or incorrect filing or payment — as set out more fully in sections 9 and 10 of our Terms of Service.
Third-party links and content
Links to government sites, payroll providers, or other third parties are provided for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or availability.
Our guides
Articles on this website (for example the S corp due-dates and first-year checklist guides) are written to be accurate as of the date shown on each page and reflect the sources cited there. They're educational content, subject to everything above.
